An audio recording in 2023 by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. speaking in a fiery way and having memory tricks is the last of a series of recent disclosure which reopened a debate on the physical and mental condition of Mr. Biden during their post and prompted new recriminations among the Democrats.
Friday evening, the recording, published by the Axios media, documents a four -minute part of Mr. Biden’s interview with Robert K. Hur, a special lawyer who investigated his management of classified information.
Hur had concluded at the beginning of last year that “no criminal accusation” was justified in the case. But by cleaning the president, Mr. Hur described Mr. Biden as an “elderly man with a bad memory”, on the basis of an interview of a time with the president, igniting that Mr. Biden’s ability for his functions has decreased considerably.
The audio clip has not revealed new exchanges between Mr. Hur and Mr. Biden. But that gives a more complete image of the reason why Mr. Hur described Mr. Biden as he did, capturing the president’s whispering voice and the long breaks in his speech. Trump administration officials decided to release the audio Fuller, according to two people familiar with the issue, speaking on condition of anonymity to describe the decision, which has not yet been announced.
The audio clip is an upcoming book – written by Jake Tapper by CNN and Alex Thompson d’Axios – has provided new details on the mental and physical decline of Mr. Biden and chronic how the advisers of Mr. Biden have extinguished the discussion on his limits related to age. Among other questions, the book tells Mr. Biden forgetting the names of aid and longtime allies and foreigners who had not seen the president for some time being shocked by his appearance.
The best democrats who closed the ranks to defend Mr. Biden in his moment of crisis and were guaranteed for his ability to the office have now had to rationalize these declarations. In an interview on the podcast “Talk Easy With Sam Fragoso” last month, senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts – who had urged Mr. Biden to stay in the race to the end – obviously had trouble not laughing when the host asked if the president had been at the time “as net as you”.
