NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The Biden administration has announced that more than 400 million N95 masks will be made available for those who want them, along with four free in-home COVID test kits per household.

Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council President and CEO Stephen Love believes mitigation efforts will have a positive impact in the fight against COVID-19.

“I think that will help, I know a lot of people have used the home testing kits. I know a lot of people have had symptoms and haven’t been tested which is very dangerous because you could spread the virus,” Love said.

Currently, 4,000 people are in hospital beds sick with COVID. Love said it would help outpatients and reiterated that vaccines are the best way to defeat this virus, “If you want to watch anything other than vaccines, wearing a mask, especially N95 masks, is essential to help stop the spread.”

Meanwhile, COVID continues to make life difficult for families as hundreds of people flocked to a FEMA-run testing site in Arlington on Wednesday.

Many people on the site told CBS 11 News they would order the test kits from home so they don’t have to wait in line to find out if they have the virus.
