Beyoncé delays January 14 announcement due to LA fires

Beyoncé is postponing her highly anticipated announcement, scheduled for January 14, amid the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.

On the eve of the announcement, the singer’s official Instagram account released a statement revealing the delay as well as the news of the donation. “The January 14 announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around parts of Los Angeles. I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for families suffering from trauma and loss. We are fortunate to have courageous first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.

The post’s caption added: “The BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund has donated $2.5 million to directly support families who have lost their homes and community organizations on the front lines of relief efforts. Please join us in supporting with whatever you can.

The singer announced the donation for fire relief earlier Monday.
