Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet but the first goal came from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who turned the ball into his own net.

The opener came with Saka’s whipped corner hitting Hojbjerg and beating Vicario at his near post.

The Italian goalkeeper appeared to have been unable to do anything, but replays showed he may have been distracted.

As White waited for the cross into the box, he stood behind Vicario and began looking at his gloves.

After glancing at them, he appeared to reach out and try to pry one of the Spurs man’s gloves off.

His attempt failed but forced Vicario to turn around and wave his arm in the air to bring him down.

Seconds later, Hojbjerg’s deflection crept in at the near post to open the scoring for Arsenal.

Gunners fans loved White’s attempt to distract Vicario, with one posting on social media: “Benny loves to use dark magic.”

“He’s a threat and we love him for that,” said a third Arsenal fan.

Before a fourth posted: “Ben White’s trick to destabilize the goalkeeper once again produces results.”

The own goal that followed White’s antics was the start of a superb half from Arsenal.

They took control of the north London derby and took a 3-0 lead into half-time. However, Spurs pulled a goal back from Cristian Romero after Gunners goalkeeper David Raya gave the ball straight to the Argentine defender.

Mikel Arteta’s side now look set to pick up a crucial three points in the Premier League title race to move four clear of Manchester City, who face Nottingham Forest later on Sunday.
