The angels announced today this right -hander Ben Joyce has undergone surgery on his right shoulder this morning and should miss the rest of the season. Joyce is already on the 60 -day injured list and will stay there for the rest of the campaign.
It is a difficult break for halos and one of the fastest launchers in baseball. Joyce, 24, launched 49 rounds with the Halos at this point in her career. Its quick ball has an average of 101.6 miles per hour, while it is also mixed in a cutter, lead, cursor and a change. Despite this enormous speed, there is more a ball launcher on the ground, with a rate of 53.7% in this department. Its withdrawal rate of 21% and its walking rate of 11.4% are lower than the party, but it still managed to display an average deserved race of 3.12.
He landed on the Il from 15 days to about two weeks before the season due to inflammation in his shoulder. Joyce and the angels seemed to think that it was a minor problem. This is part of the reason why the angels are 17-24 so far. Returning Joyce could have helped, but that won’t happen now.
Joyce arrived this year with a year and 75 days of high league service time. He will continue to add to this on the IL and will therefore end this year at 2.075. He should qualify for arbitration after 2026 and the free agency after 2029.
