Extracts from a new book by Seth Wickersham published on Espn.com Thursday focused on Bears Caleb Williams’ quarter-arre on the doubts of the organization as the first choice of the 2024 draft.
The book quotes Williams as saying to his father that he wanted to find a way to go to the Vikings and that he quotes his father saying that Chicago is where the quarters will die. The first season of Williams turned out to be disappointing enough for the head coach Matt Eberflus and the attacking coordinator Shane Waldron to be both licensed, but the best days hopes were triggered by the team’s decision to hire Ben Johnson as chief coach.
Johnson was a guest The herd Thursday and he was asked, with a reference to the Wickersham reports, if he was concerned that Williams would see other bumps on the road as a reason to doubt the management of the franchise. Johnson said he saw “an excellent opportunity to do something that has not been done” and that he thinks that Williams will be the first 4000 yards of the franchise while adding that he saw nothing to suggest that the quarterrier is unhappy from where he plays.
“I see A chance of magnitude here for him, ”said Johnson, via Matt Clapp of Horrible ad. “It was communicated in this way and it feels the same thing. I don’t know what happened before joining the organization, but it is very proud to be a chicago bear. This is what our conversations have included. It is really excited to get to work right now and be the best version of itself for 2025.”
Win to cure most injuries and a happy new year for Johnson, Williams, and the Bears will be the best way to put feelings of resting pre-relaxation once and for all in Chicago.
