Ben Harper and the innocent criminals take the road this summer for a 15 dates tour that will end on Sunday August 24 at the Los Angeles Theater Orpheum.
The Los Angeles show will be the only judgment of the Southern California group, with the only one from the state planned for the Fox Theater in Oakland on Saturday August 23. Tickets for the 15 shows will be on sale Friday February 14 at 10 a.m. for general admission, with presales starting on Wednesday February 12 via Benharper.com.
The next tour will showcase a mixture of Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals Classics and Songs from Harper’s album in 2023, “Wide Open Light”, which presented collaborations with Jack Johnson, Shelby Lynne and Piers Faccini. The grammy winner musician Harper has accumulated a diverse set of collaborations, notably John Lee Hooker, Charlie Musselwhite, Ringo Starr and Keith Richards.
More recently, he collaborated with the superstar of pop Harry Styles, contributing to his work as a signature guitar to the styles album, “Harry’s House”. Harper also joined Styles for 12 nights of performance at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in 2022. The musician also produced albums for Mavis Staples, Rickie Lee Jones, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Natalie Maines and Ziggy Marley.
In addition to his musical efforts, Harper also worked on the screen. He appeared in the first season of the Appletv + anthology series “Extrapolations”, in which the characters are forced to fight against the devastating effects of climate change.
More recently, he appeared in Jeff Buckley’s new documentary, “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley”, which was presented to the Sundance Film Festival in January. The film, directed by Amy Berg, compassionate the life of the late Buckley and its impact on international musical culture at the end of the 20th century. He presents scores and rare live performances while capturing love, loss and other life transitions that have shaped Buckley.
