Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged opinions on the “Ukrainian crisis” during their talks in Kremlin on May 8, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.
According to the Department of the Ministry, during the discussion, Xi Jinping expressed its support for a “universal, complete, cooperative and sustainable concept of world security”.
The Chinese chief also stressed that “the legitimate security interests of all countries should be taken seriously and that the deep causes of the crisis must be treated”. He would have said that China is hosting peace efforts and hoping for an agreement between Moscow and kyiv who would be acceptable to both parties.
In addition, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Putin said Russia was ready to start peace talks without preconditions and hopes for a lasting peace agreement.
The own Kremlin reports on talks with Xi Jinping made no mention of the discussions on the end of the war.
