The Chicago Bears exacted revenge on the Washington Commanders, rallying from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter for a 25-24 victory. Jake Moody – cut by the 49ers after a dismal Week 1 – scored the game-winning 38-yard field goal as time expired to give Chicago its third straight victory.
The Bears’ game-winning drive was set up by a Jayden Daniels fumble on a handoff to Jacory Crosley-Merritt with 3:10 left. On third-and-1, Daniels mishandled the exchange and the Bears recovered at their own 44. D’Andre Swift took over, rushing 34 yards on the final drive to set up Moody’s kick.
Moody made 4 of 5 field goals in his first game on Chicago’s active roster. His only miss — a blocked attempt — helped the Bears take a 13-point lead in the first half before rallying after Washington took a 24-16 lead in the fourth. Swift totaled 175 yards from scrimmage, including 108 yards rushing and 7.7 yards per carry in the win.
