Bears sign linebacker Matt Adams originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Bears added depth to their linebacker room on Saturday. The team announced that they had signed Matt Adams to a one-year contract.
Adams spent his entire four-year career with the Colts, so he and Matt Eberflus know each other well. During his tenure with the Colts, Adams played in 58 games, starting nine of them. Although he contributed on defense, with 55 career tackles, six TFLs and one fumble recovery, Adams mostly played on special teams at Indianapolis. Last season, he played on 79% of all Colts special teams snaps.
The Bears’ starting linebackers Will and Mike are still expected to be Roquan Smith and Nick Morrow, though Eberflus has yet to hint which man will play at which position.
