Reeves couldn’t delve deeper The Batman Part II plot details during his interview, but he shed some light on his approach for the film. “What excites me is that I feel like we’re doing something that absolutely continues where the story is coming from, but it’s something that I hope is really going to surprise people,” he declared.

Originally announced in April 2022, The Batman Part II endured a very difficult road to get off the ground. The film experienced numerous delays; its release date has been pushed back to October 2027, as there is still no completed script. DC Studios co-head James Gunn defended the Batman Part II delays, comparing it to the prolonged gaps between other sequels, like his own Guardians of the Galaxy films. If the current release date is maintained, The Batman Part II will be presented more than five years after its predecessor.

At some point, The Batman Part II was targeting a production start date of early 2025, but recent developments have made that increasingly unlikely. In addition to the script’s status, star Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s film. The Odysseywhich would have started filming in the first half of this year.

After all the bad news about The Batman Part II Lately, it’s encouraging that Reeves still plans to shoot the film this year. If he sticks to this timeline, that means fans should learn some concrete details about the highly anticipated sequel in the near future. In his interview with DeadlineReeves mentioned the involvement of “new people”, hinting at new additions to the cast. It will be interesting to see which actors join the project and which characters they play; Reeves has spoken about wanting to incorporate new villains into the franchise.

Hopefully The Batman Part II no longer experience any delays from now on. As illustrated by the positive reception given to both The Batman And The PenguinReeves’ take on Gotham City has resonated with audiences, and many are excited to see the Batman Epic Crime saga continue. It’s unfortunate that there will be a long wait for the next installment, but if Reeves’ journey is anything to go by, it will be worth it.
