(CBS DETROIT)- By 10 a.m. Friday, many seats at the Batch Brewing Company in Corktown were packed with Tigers fans.
Customers enjoyed specialty food and drink and of course beer. Owner Stephen Roginson says it’s been a tough two years, but he’s optimistic about the restaurant’s future.

“It’s been a long time, we’ve been waiting for this, it feels good,” Roginson said of having a great crowd on the Tigers’ opening day.
Roginson says the company has had its ups and downs over the past two years, but luckily they’ve been able to pivot during this time.
“Last quarter of year-end, omicron was the worst quarter we’ve ever had, but I’m optimistic this year will be a lot like 2019, we’re doing some cool stuff. We’re building a scene in the spring, working at a night market that will take place on Porter Street every Friday night,” Roginson said.

They also have a large, very cool outdoor area, some covered, which Roginson says got them through the winter.
