Ean Bryant’s Sage Hill coach was delighted that Karahalios persevered despite some recent difficulties with her shot.

“When this (blow) left his hand, I said to myself, it’s money, it’s good,” said Bryant. “Finally, the child took a break because he had trouble with his range. At the start of the season, he was money, he couldn’t miss, and he fought a little with it. But we just said that if you have an eye, throw it away.

Karahalios, who scored a 16 -point top, took a pass of Tre Cradle and used a crossover dribble to create space to sink the clutch jump on the right elbow.

“I was just ready to do what my team needed to do,” said Karahalios. “You are always locked up and that’s what’s going on when you are focused, when you have a goal, you will do it if you continue to try.”

Karahalios remembered the feeling of the heartbreaking defeat last year in the quarter -final against the Habra, the possible champion in 3Aa. He was happy to be on the other side this season.

“It’s very satisfactory,” he said. “I only want my boys last year to experience the same thing, but at least we have it.”

The Lightning (17-9) will welcome the San Gabriel Academy on Friday in the semi-finals.
