Barcelona produced an astonishing return to Montjuic on Saturday to beat Real Madrid for the fourth time this season in all competitions and keep seven points away from their Rivals Amers at the top of the table in Spain.
First semester
Barcelona made the worst start to the match when Wojciech Szczęsny dropped Kylian Mbappe and conceded a penalty. Mbappe duly converted the kick to do it 1-0 after only three minutes.
Another goal was not too far. Lamine Yamal said he had been the victim of a fault after losing the ball, but Madrid simply played and worked the ball in Mbappe to do 2-0 with only 14 minutes on the clock.
Barcelona had all kinds of problems at that time, but roared in a spectacular style. Eric Garcia gave hope to the hosts when he headed in a corner, before Yamal curled up an exquisite shot to level it.
And then it was in Raphinha. The Brazilian brilliant of Barça was sent to the goal and put home comfortably to put the hosts for the first time in the match. He then jumped on an error to be 4-2 just before half-time to extend Barça’s advance.
Second half
Unsurprisingly, the second half was not as dramatic as the first 45 minutes. Barça had the ball at the back of the net very early when Raphinha square for Yamal, but the effort was excluded because the Brazilian was just offside in the construction.
Instead, it was Real Madrid that managed to score afterwards. A quick break saw Vinicius Jr Square for Mbappe to return the ball at home to reduce the deficit to a single goal and complete its triplet.
However, Raphinha should also have had a treble too. Yamal produced a brilliant cross outside the boot so that the Brazilian meets at Far Post, but he managed to miss the target.
Barcelona then called on a penalty after a Ferran Torres shot was blocked in the penalty surface by the arm of Aurélien Tchouammeni. There was a long wait because Var looked at him before deciding not to assign a kick.
Real Madrid was likely in the dying minutes. The replacement Victor Munoz managed to miss after being sent clear, while Mbappe had a saved effort and then had a goal excluded due to the offside.
Barça thought it had marked again in the time of downtime when the replacement Fermin Lopez broke a fifth to see him to see him for an apparent handball.
However, that did not matter because the seconds later, the final whistle was denounced to confirm a magnificent victory which leaves Barça by the title.
