Barack Obama becomes frank on the ups and downs of his marriage to Michelle. The former President of the United States seemed to tackle recent speculations on his relationship of several decades on Thursday, because he admitted that he was still working to compensate for the results that his presidency with two mandates took his marriage.
Apparently alluding to the state of his relationship during his stay at the White House, the former politician told the president of Hamilton College, Steven Tepper, during a conversation on April 3: “I was in depth with my wife”, according to the Daily beast.
However, Barack pushed the rumors of divorce by revealing that he was working to catch things in Michelle. “So I tried to get out of this hole by doing sometimes fun things,” he added.

This is not the first time that the Obamas have opened up to their marriage. In an interview of December 2022 on Revolt TVMichelle revealed that she “could not bear” her husband for a decade when her daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, grew.
“People think I am a catty by saying this,” she said, continuing to explain how unevenly charges and expectations of work put a break on their union. Although she notices this imbalance, especially when her children were young, she pointed out: “Marriage is not 50/50, never, never.”

“There are times when I am 70 years old, he is 30 years old. There are times when he is 60 years old, (I am) 40 years old. But guess what? Ten years – we are married 30 – I would take 10 bad years on 30 years. It’s just how you look at it,” she explained.
Meanwhile, in 2023 CBS Mornings Interview, Michelle said that it compromises in marriage “is not always fun”, but she wanted to be open to the problems to which she and Barack had encountered in their relationship to help other people who could cross a similar situation.

“Marriage is difficult, and many young people leave marriage on things that are only part of the commitment,” she said. “We have been married for 30 years. If I have detached myself with him for 10 years and we had 20 years, I would take these chances at any time.”
Barack also talked about how his marriage fought when he was involved in politics, saying in 2023 CBS Mornings Interview: “Let me say this: it certainly helps to get out of the White House and spend a little more time with it.”
