Bam Margera trial: Fmr. Reality TV star accepts plea deal as proceedings set to begin in Chester County

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) — Former reality TV star Brandon “Bam” Margera agreed to a plea deal as his trial was about to begin in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Margera pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct on Wednesday.

He will spend six months on probation and be subject to random drug testing.

In court, Margera said he was grateful for the situation, saying it helped him put his act in order.

Judge Patrick Carmody said Margera’s recent sobriety was what the whole family was looking for and should continue during the probation period.

If he tests positive for drugs, he could face prison time.

Margera was initially charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment stemming from an April 2023 incident involving his brother, Jess, at the family’s Pocopson Township home.

Margera fled the police for a few days before surrendering.

Bam has previously suffered from mental health and substance abuse issues.

His mother, April, spoke to Action News after the hearing.

“He’s doing really well and we want him to go on and put all this behind him, we really do. But we all love him and we just want him to do well,” she said.

“He’s been through a lot in his life, he’s had a lot of access and he’s had a lot of power and it’s hard to get over that,” she continued.

He walked into the Chester County Courthouse in West Chester earlier Wednesday without saying a word, but we caught up with him Monday as he described what his life is like now.

“Really good, in less than a month it will be a year of sobriety. I’ve pretty much said yes to every job to pay for numerous custody battles and treatment center fees. So I’m doing a lot of comedy and I’m going to travel all over the country, packed to the brim, which is good, you know, because I spent a lot of time not being productive at all, and I don’t want to live that life anymore he said. .
