BLAYASNY, the hedge fund of $ 21 billion, comes out of Spain.
The Hedge Fund has reduced its only portfolio manager based in the Spanish capital, Igancio Perez-Cossio, and its three analysts. The manager closes his office in the high -end municipality of Madrid Pozuelo in Alarcón, two people familiar with Business Insider told Business Insider.
Balyasny and Perez-Cossio refused to comment.
Perez-Cossio joined Balyasny in 2023 as a portfolio director after working for the Zimmer Partners and Crestline Investors infrastructure (now known as Summittx), according to its LinkedIn profile. He began his career at UBS, where he focused on research on public services and infrastructure actions.
Balyasny, who has reorganized his picking unit in the past 18 months, has a significant presence in London, where many funds whose headquarters have concentrated their investment talents abroad, as well as smaller outposts in Denmark and Poland.
The manager made 13.6% in 2024 and was up 3.5% in the first 2025 months, the best larger rivals such as Citadel and Millennium for the month.
