Baldur’s Gate 3 player creates an army of spiders in his party

Scott Baird

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has revealed how to create a party of twelve monstrous spiders, which they can use to face the perils of the Forgotten Realms.

Baldur’s Gate 3 allows players to unleash the power of nature on their enemies, whether through the primal magic of a Druid or with the Ranger befriending and teaming up with the animals of the game world against monsters.

Although animals may not seem like powerful allies against Mind Flayers or dragons, they can surprise you with their strength. The Druid’s Wild Form ability is a great example of this, with his bear form allowing him to tear apart his enemies with ease.

It is also possible to wield the power of arachnids and insects, and while these may seem even weaker than regular animals, they can still decimate enemy monsters thanks to their numbers and voracious hunger.

Wow man, look at all these bugs…

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player created a mini spider army for his group

A Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit user uploaded a video demonstrating his unique group, made up of twelve different spiders. This may sound like the work of a Baldur’s Gate 3 mod, but it’s actually possible using class abilities.

“Level 3 Beast Master, use Ranger’s Companion and Find Familiar to summon 2 spiders.” The OP explained when asked about his method: “Multiclass to Druid, 2 levels, to use Wild Shape: Spider, do this with each party member, and you have 12 spiders.”

This method allows you to unleash a horde of spiders, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have an incredibly powerful group. While the group would have the advantage in terms of action economy, individual characters would be quite weak, especially further into the game.

Again, a spider-centric party would be a fun challenge. Baldur’s Gate 3 players are obsessed with conquering Honor Mode in unusual ways, so the Lolth-approved arachnid army would be fun.

The beauty of Baldur’s Gate 3 is that it allows players to approach its quests in strange ways. Clearing the goblin camp or druid grove with a group of arachnids is the kind of thing most games wouldn’t allow, but in Baldur’s Gate 3 the developers practically encourage you to do it.
