Washington – The Dodgers did not play impeccable baseball even when their record was impeccable.
It hasn’t changed. But the results have.
Neither the defense nor the enclosure of the lifts were at its best Monday evening in Nationals Park and the Nationals of Washington beat the Dodgers, 6-4, giving the undefeated Dodgers of their third defeat in four games on this road trip.
“We have to clean up certain things on all sides of the ball. We know that we are better than what we have played,” said the third goal player of the Dodgers, Max Mancy. “Unfortunately, this is baseball. You are going to have good sequences, bad sequences. And this is not necessarily a bad sequence. We have played a few points. We have scored a few points. It’s just, we haven’t put this road trip everything.”
They showed their faults, however, the bad base and the defense contributed to the two losses in Philadelphia. After a strong departure, the enclosure of the lifts abandoned eight points in 15 rounds during the four games of this trip.
“Obviously, not the start of the road trip we wanted, in particular by playing these matches not as good as the Dodgers still play in baseball,” said Miguel Rojas who made one of the two Dodgers errors on Monday. “I think we have made a lot of mistakes on the basics. And on the defensive today, we have given them a lot of chance for them to score races, so we have to clean this.
“(Is it) surprising? Yes. Because we expect the best of us every day, and it is supposed to be good every day. But I mean, it happens. … And obviously, this is not the way we want to start this trip on the road, not losing these games as we allowed to pay attention to details.
Shohei Ohtani emerged from a weekend 1 for 11 in Philadelphia to go 3 for 4 with a simple, a triple and a two-point home run, all of the national starter Mackenzie Gore. But the rest of the Dodgers’ programming had only two strokes during the first six sleeves against Gore.
The start of the Dodgers Dustin May traveled two during the first round, but encountered real problems in the second when his defense complicated things.
Another walk and only one put two runners to start the Channel. Jose Tena tried to rub them but dropped his attempt right in front of the marble. The Dodgers recipient, Will Smith, released the strength in the third row.
Dylan Crews struck a hard floor on the left of Mookie Betts who crossed him for an error. One round scored on the game. Another scored when Miguel Rojas beat the ball on James Wood’s ground to the right of the second goal.
“I just missed him. Error,” said Rojas about his error.
Ohtani’s two -point circuit has equaled the scoring, but the Nationals resumed the advance in the third round.
Luis Garcia Jr. led with a simple and stolen second – one of the three stolen bases that the Nationals had in the game. Nathaniel Lowe led him with a simple RBI single two strikers later.
May has withdrawn the next 11 nationals in order before leaving after six rounds (corresponding to Yoshinobu Yamamoto as only Dodgers launchers to launch this match this season).
“Fourth, fifth and sixth round, I felt quite installed. I felt that I could launch a strike,” said May. “The first three rounds, I don’t think I could have been paid to launch a strike. Consensate in fourth, fifth and sixth and we feel strong from there.”
But the Nationals withdrew with a seventh round of three points against the Dodgers enclosure.
Anthony Banda replaced May in the seventh and abandoned safe blows of three of the four strikers he faced, including one home run of two points towards wood. Matt Sauer entered and abandoned a double RBI to Keibert Ruiz.
These additional races have proven to be decisive. The Dodgers scored twice during the eighth round in simple RBI of Betts and Smith. But the lift of the national championships Kyle Finnegan – launching in a third consecutive match – failed hikes on the ninth to record a stop of five withdrawals.
After his departure for three strokes against Gore, Ohtani offered runners twice and had the chance to end the second cycle of his career. But he took a third strike called to the eighth and pulled a walk to the ninth.
“I still feel very well in the team,” said Ohtani about the 1-3 trip so far. “Even if we play from behind, we are able to give at least a fairly good fight. At home, I have the impression that we were able to return the score and play even better in baseball.”
