Bachelor Nation’s Rachel Nance Details Getting Racist Comments Online

Rachel Nance I no longer wanted to remain silent.

The 27-year-old, who appeared on the show Joey Graziadeithe season of The single personrecently reflected on her decision to speak out against racist comments she received on social media after appearing on the show.

When Rachel was first cast, she was excited for fans to get to know her.

“I just thought, ‘Oh my God, what a great opportunity. I can show who I am, what I am and my roots, and maybe the world will love it,'” the nurse explained in a test for Today published on May 20. “My dad is Arab and black and my mom is from the Philippines. I was born and raised in Hawaii and grew up in a big blended family. I loved it.”

Rachel also loved teaching Joey about her family’s traditions and culture during their hometown date. However, she admitted to having some hesitations.

“I let my family take the reins and introduce him to several Filipino customs: traditional dances and a lechon feast,” the reality star continued. “Before the meeting, I had to prepare. I asked myself: ‘Am I overdoing it, showing my culture?’ But my family loved it, and I loved it. My mother and my aunt, both from the Philippines, were very proud.
