Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 has raised $2.44 million (£1.8 million) for its latest cause, the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The annual speedrun fundraiser – one of Games Done Quick’s many annual events – ended early today in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a Pokémon Emerald speedrun.
As always, while thousands of guests attended in person, the speedrunning exploits were also simulcast live on Twitch and YouTube.
Highlights of the event include a game of Resident Evil 2 Remake played on a Guitar Hero controller, a 70-person Super Mario 64 relay race, and “a packed room of French-style cosplayers during Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.”
Since 2010, Games Done Quick has collectively raised more than $59.8 million for charities around the world, including the Malala Fund and the Organization for Autism Research. The next event will begin on February 5 in Minneapolis to raise funds for Médecins Sans Frontières.
Summer Games Done Quick 2025 closed by raising $2,436,614 – £1.8 million – also for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières.
