Authorities say bird flu has been detected on Long Island.
Suffolk health officials told News 12 it was found on a commercial poultry farm in the county. The USDA website states that this farm is a commercial duck meat farm.
Officials did not release the name of the farm and said it is expected to pose minimal risk to the public.
According to authorities, none of the farmworkers who may have been exposed are sick at this time.
