Authorities release names of victims and suspects of Lakeside double murder-suicide
Sheriff’s officials on Tuesday released the names of the two victims and the suspect in a double murder-suicide in Lakeside last week.
Sisters Michele Mallucci, 60, and Theresa Schrantz, 59, were shot dead by Mallucci’s boyfriend, who then turned the gun on himself on Thursday night, homicide Lt. Chris Steffen said. sheriff.
Mallucci lived in Lakeside. The Union-Tribune could not immediately confirm the spelling of his name.
Schrantz lived in Las Vegas.
Steffen identified the shooter as Kenneth Harrington, 59, a Lakeside resident.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting, first reported just after 11:30 p.m. at the Ridgecrest Community Seniors’ Mobile Home Park on the Interstate 8 Business Loop near Los Coches Road.
Deputies were told a man had shot a woman and the two were still inside the mobile home. A SWAT team entered the house and found the bodies of the two women and Harrington.
Schrantz is the grandmother of two children also in the mobile home at the time of the shooting. Steffen did not specify the children’s ages, but said they were reunited with their family in Las Vegas.
