Failure was not an option.

“My husband left her job three weeks after the bakery,” she said about Carlos’ decision to join the company as a financial director, “because we have admitted that you put everything in Nadia cakes to make sure it succeeds, or we will lose everything.”

It was a risk that borne fruit, Nadia Cakes later extending beyond her original location in the south of California with two bakeries in Minnesota, where the Jimenez family now calls at home.

“I was certainly not launched in this trip to be a award-winning baker or a food network champion,” she said. “I just did what I had to do to pay my bills and take care of my family, as if I did everything I did.”

He also burned Abby. Daily, she stepped back to focus on another passion: writing.

“When this was summed up in the books, it was probably the least risks I had never faced,” said Abby to E!, “Because I didn’t need books to reach a goal that I had set myself.”
