Ashleigh Gardner, the Aboriginal Australian versatile, made the knot with the long-term partner Monica Wright during a superb ceremony during the weekend.
Gardner, 27, who got engaged to Wright in April of last year, went to social networks on Sunday to publish a single photo of the wedding alongside the legend: “Mrs. and Mrs. Gardner”.
The ceremony brought together some of the Gardner cricket friends, notably Elysis Perry, Kim Garth, Elyse Villani and Alyssa Healy.
The marriage arrives at a time when the cricket star made big waves in her professional career, after being recently named skipper of the Guants of Gujarat in the Premier League.
Gardner also made the headlines in 2023 when she called Australia Cricket to plan a match on Australia.
She published a statement on social networks declaring that it was a “day of injury and a day of mourning” for the Aboriginal Australians and said that she preferred not to play.

Gardner hid the decision to plan one of the Australian matches against Pakistan on January 26 – the day the first fleet arrived in Sydney in 1788.
“Thinking about what January 26 means for me and my people is a day of injury and mourning,” she posted on social networks.
“My culture is something that I care about (…) and I am always so proud to speak every time I ask.
“Unfortunately, this year, the Australian female cricket team was planned to play a game on January 26, which certainly does not suit me as an individual, but also all the people I represent,” she wrote on social networks.
“ As a national team, we have a platform to raise awareness of certain problems and I use this platform to, hope, educate others on a trip to find out more about the longest live culture in the world.
“When I take the field for this game, I will certainly think and think about all my ancestors and my people who have changed from this day,” wrote Gardner.
Gardner then thought about her position and the reaction she cut,
“I knew that by displaying this statement that there was going to be backlash,” she said.

Gardner went to Twitter to express his disappointment and made the headlines in the process
“I think I underestimated how much I cut. I do my best so as not to look at it all, but I have the impression that it is only the human nature of reading comments and things like that.
But she did not fall back.
“But I guess it was a time when I stood with my arms and I put this statement there because it was what I thought,” she said.
“I just had to stay faithful to what I said, and I guess I just tried to go back and transform it into a positive conversation and it is triggered.”
Gardner said in the days that followed her interrogation that she did the right thing to be as vocal as it is.
But the talented athlete said that the support of his teammates has strengthened that she was better to be strong about her beliefs for improving the cause.
