Audio-Technica Launches New Headphones With Chest-Thumping Bass

One of the complaints I often hear about wireless headphones is that they don’t have enough bass. Some people love the sound of a bass string and want the earth to move when they listen to their favorite tracks.

Japanese brand Audio-Technica has taken these criticisms into account and developed new truly wireless earbuds with an extra punch. The ATH-CKS30TW+ earbuds launched today and have been designed to deliver punchy bass that betrays their compact design. And just in case outside noise interferes with your bassline, these earbuds all feature immersive active noise cancellation.

Audio-Technical says these new headphones are the culmination of a 15-year quest for ultra-deep bass. To plumb the depths of mega-bass, the company added acoustic ducts and proprietary 9mm drivers that control airflow. And if bass is about anything, it’s about moving greater amounts of air to get that powerful bass sound.

With tightly controlled low frequencies, detailed mids and what Audio-Technical describes as “sparkling highs”, these headphones are the perfect gift for anyone who loves music, movies and games with maximum impact.

Audio-Technica’s Connect app provides access to an ultra-low frequency EQ that extends the bass even further for moving beats. Four additional EQ presets are also available so users can enhance everything from vocal clarity to dynamic playing. The presets are Bass Boost – Beat, Dynamic, Vocal and Clear. Presets can be set as favorites in the app and automatically applied to the headphones each time they listen.

The combination of deep bass and active noise cancellation makes the ATH-CKS30TW+ ideal for enjoying sound to the fullest by eliminating unwanted sounds from air conditioners and the hubbub of public transport.

Accessible with a simple press of the built-in touch sensor controls, the anticipatory active noise cancellation feature is complemented by listen and talk functions that allow you to hear environmental sounds and natural in-person conversations without having to remove the headphones.

A full charge of the earbuds batteries provides up to 6.5 hours of listening time with the noise canceling feature enabled. With the reserve charge stored in the earbuds’ storage case, the total listening time is 17.5 hours. If you want to extend the battery life even further, turn off the noise canceling feature and you’ll get up to 7.5 hours of listening time with the earbuds or 20 hours with the charging case.

The ATH-CKS30TW+ are available in four colors and offer a comfortable, natural fit that prevents low frequencies from escaping and physically blocks unwanted external noise from passing through the earbuds.

Their comfortable fit and low weight make the earbuds suitable for hiking and workouts. An IP55 waterproof and dustproof rating means sweaty gym sessions shouldn’t be a problem. An out-of-range alert and product locator also mean users shouldn’t lose their earbuds by forgetting or misplacing them.

Rates and availability: The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS30TW+ wireless headphones will be available today for $99 / £89 / €99.
