Atlanta resident Nelly to perform at Trump inauguration

“This marks a pivotal moment in our country where people from all walks of life come together to commemorate President Trump’s victory and the start of a new golden age for America,” the committee said in an email regarding the updated programming.

Nelly has not publicly addressed the news. Her publicist did not respond to requests for comment in messages sent by email and on social networks.

He’s not the only rapper participating in Trump’s inauguration festivities this year. On Friday night, Snoop Dogg headlined a Crypto Ball held in honor of Trump’s second presidency. Fayetteville resident Rick Ross and Atlanta native Soulja Boy also made appearances. Both rappers posted about the event on Instagram.

“No, relax, I’m not playing,” Ross told fans in an Instagram Story posted Friday, referring to the Crypto Ball. “I’m in Washington DC right now, but I’m not playing. It’s a private setting that I do with my brother Snoop Dogg.

Last year, Nelly threw a star-studded, Western-themed birthday celebration in honor of her 50th birthday. The party took place at Guardian Works in Atlanta.

“I didn’t really get a chance to throw birthday parties until I could afford to throw them myself,” Nelly told the AJC at the time. “I don’t want to disparage my mother and father because they did their best. It’s a big problem.

Nelly also performed at One MusicFest in Atlanta last year. In March, he is set to headline his Where the Party At tour, alongside Eve and Ja Rule. The tour is expected to include a performance at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta in September.
