Boston (AP) Chris Sale withdrew eight years and launched seven ball handles on Friday evening, leading the Braves of Atlanta to a 4-2 victory against the Boston Red Sox.
Sale (2-3), which won a world series with Boston, won his first victory since April 25. The 36 -year -old left -hander granted five strokes and a deserved race with two bullet goals.
The defending winner of the National League Cy Young reduced his ERA from 3.97 to 3.62. Also a winner of the golden gloves for the first time in his career last season, Sale fell on his knees on a return from Nick Sogard de Boston and got up and played the game for the first of the fifth.
The sale spent six seasons with the Red Sox (2017-23) and recorded the final which won the 2018 Boston championship. It has been 2-0 against the Red Sox since it exchanged at Atlanta during the 2023-24 offseason.
Matt Olson and Sean Murphy struck consecutive circuits during the second round for Atlanta and the Braves added two points to the ninth when the lift of the Red Sox Brennan Bernardino emitted consecutive walks with the loaded bases.
Raisel Iglesias granted a single RBI to the history of Trevor from Boston to the ninth round and obtained his eighth judgment.
The Braves (23-22) became the fifth team to exceed 0,500 after losing 7 or more consecutive games to open a season.
The solo circuits were the only points authorized by the starter of the Red Sox Garrett Crochet (4-3) in seven rounds. He removed eight and did not work.
Jarren Duran succeeded in two strokes and reached the base safely three times – all against the sale – while Rob Refsnyder hit a solo circuit in the seventh.
In a period of three throws in the second round, the match went out of goal in Atlanta who launched for good. Olson opted for the eighth home run of the season. Murphy sent a 0-1 launch of the hook in the seats of the green monster for its eighth circuit.
The hook leads MLB with five starts of at least seven rounds.
Atlanta Rhp Grant Holmes (2-3, 4.14) faces Boston Rhp Lucas Giolito in the intermediate match of the series on Saturday.
