Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. was roasted by baseball fans online after missing an easy catch during the team’s loss to the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

Acuna was playing right field with Padres star Manny Machado, who threw a ball up the middle that is an easy catch for any MLB outfielder.

The four-time MLB All-Star appeared to have a good read on the ball, but then planted his feet and attempted to catch with an odd motion near his ankles.

Acuna dropped the ball to the shock of the commentators and those in attendance, allowing the runner on second base to advance with one out.

Fans criticized Acuna for not converting the easy takedown and are concerned about the reigning National League MVP.

“Did Acuna just forget how to play baseball?” » said one MLB fan on social media.

“Never put your glove over your eyes when catching a fly. I learned that in little league,” another fan said.

“Brother is so washed up,” one person said of Acuna with a skull emoji.

“Dude looks like he stopped training completely in the off season after being MVP,” another baseball fan said on X.

“Even the best fail at the simplest things,” one baseball fan concluded.

Acuna and the Braves ended up losing the game 9-1, which makes his hilarious mistake a little less significant.

The Braves are 5.5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East and losing more ground quickly.

Nor does Acuna continue his MVP season with another effort worthy of this lofty accolade.

The 26-year-old has just three home runs, 12 RBIs this season with a .253 batting average.
