Aston Villa vs Brentford predictions

Aston Villa lost 4-1 to a rampant Man City side on Wednesday night, but arrive with much better chances.

Since their 15 home league winning streak, Villa have won just three of their seven league matches at Villa Park.

But their last home game ended in a 2-0 win against Wolves, which has given them encouragement for the remaining games as they hold on to stay in the top four.

This victory against Wolves also ended a run of six games without a clean sheet at home.

Brentford come in with poor league form away from home, against Villa and against top five teams, which doesn’t bode well.

The Bees have lost 11 of their last 12 league matches against teams starting the day in the top five of the table, including all eight such matches this season.

They have also lost nine of their last ten away games, also excluding Wolves where they also won 2-0.

📝 Aston Villa vs Brentford Betting Tips

Villa look far too strong heading into this, with Brentford on a long losing streak and Villa still hoping to claim fourth place in the table. They have only lost eight games this season and that is unlikely to come from a team that has only won twice this calendar year in the league.

Villa will win, both teams will score, Duran will score – 5/1

Aston Villa have scored 37 goals at Villa Park this season, their most at home in a single Premier League campaign.

Brentford have also never won away against Aston Villa in the league, drawing five and losing three of their eight visits, making the odds of a Villa victory much more valuable.

Villa’s Jhon Duran was a great addition to the team and even made a worthy replacement when Ollie Watkins was injured against Man City.

He had a great chance to equalize with a tricky volley and had a superb shot on goal, but was still ruled offside.

But a few minutes later he equalized, but this happened in a match where he played 70 minutes, the most he had all season and which looks dangerous with more experience.

He’s only played 334 minutes so far and it looks like Watkins could still be out this weekend, putting him in contention.

Add to that Villa’s poor run of goals at home, apart from last time out against Wolves, they could see plenty of players stepping up to score against them after conceding four against City on Wednesday.

⚽ Aim for Villa to win, both teams to score, Duran to score – 3/1 with Bet365 ⚽

Mbeumo scores, Douglas Luiz assists – 18/1

Bryan Mbeumo has scored four goals and been involved in five more away goals in the Premier League this season than any other Brentford player, despite only playing eight of his games on the road until present this season.

He was out of action for a few weeks, missing as many as 13 games, and was slowly reintroduced to the team recently with only minutes in the last three games.

He could feature more prominently here and get back on the scoresheet as he did so often before getting injured around the middle of the season.

No player has been directly involved in more goals at Villa Park for Aston Villa in all competitions this season than Douglas Luiz with nine goals and six assists.

Before this season, his best campaign for goals and assists at Villa Park was last season with just three goals and two assists.

⚽ Tip Mbeumo to score, Luiz to help at 18/1 with Bet365 ⚽
