Ross Barkley is in talks to move to Aston Villa after his exceptional season with Luton Town.

The 30-year-old enjoyed a loan spell with Villa in 2020-21 and is keen to continue his career in the Premier League following Luton’s relegation.

Villa need depth for their squad after qualifying for the Champions League and want to add a versatile full-back, such as upcoming Atletico Madrid free agent Mario Hermoso, two midfielders and a striker. Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is also interesting.

However, they will also have to sacrifice part of their team to meet profit and sustainability guidelines.

Philippe Coutinho is wanted in Brazil by Vasco da Gama while defender Diego Carlos is a potential target for AC Milan.
