One by one, the safety nets protecting Angel Postcoglou from a catastrophic fall in the forgetting of football are removed.
If Liverpool hacked a cord to demolish Tottenham de Postecoglou in a national cup competition last Thursday, then Aston Villa methodically disadvantaged the knot while holding another here in the other at Villa Park.
Now there is almost nothing left than a long fall in the dark for the Tottenham manager. The Spurs remain in the Europa League, but that’s where the good news begins and ends. The Premier League has become an embarrassing and soulless Slog a long time ago. Tottenham, weighed down by a decrease in confidence and a long list of injuries, sat in 14th position.
Tottenham went from a “essential” team to a team “Can’t Bear to Watch” and it is now President Daniel Levy in terms of what he wants to do about it.
If he believes in postcoglou, he should hold his nerve. Spurs will not go down and there are a group of players waiting to come back. Likewise, if he wishes to drop another manager, there has been a long list of bad results – only two national victories since December 19 and only two in the Premier League since November 23 – which he could indicate as justification.
Here in Birmingham against one side of the upper villa, the name Levy was sung throughout. Nothing new there. But after conceding a disastrous goal in the very first minute, the PostCoglou team was also supported by travel fans. And it is a new and worrying development for Postcoglou.
Morgan Rogers scored the second goal of Aston Villa of the match against Tottenham

The side of Angel Postcoglou was eliminated from a second cup in the space of four days

Villa was also broken on bodies here. The manager Unai Emery only brought Marcus Rashford after the second goal. They were generally energetic and useful, however. Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinksy offered Jacob Ramsey a goal after 60 seconds, then formed a single man between villa and a few others.
The Spurs rallied a little and Captain Heung-Min Son missed two good chances. The South Korean is typical of the difficulties of his team at the moment. He looks like a broken footballer.
But there was an inevitability about a villa victory. Tottenham is simply too chaotic right now. Here, the resolution they had shown by winning in Brentford last Sunday disappeared and when Morgan Rogers marked the second of villa shortly after the hour of this equality.
The Spurs marked in additional time while the new loan signing Mathys such was converted to the distant position. But it was as good as possible and when Djed Spence spent the ball straight to report the end of the game a few minutes later, it seemed appropriate.
The opening goal was a disaster for young Kinsky. The 21 -year -old was at fault for the first Tottenham conceded during the defeat of the Carabao Cup in Liverpool in the middle of the week, but it was at another level.
Villa has broken quickly and directly through the center of the Spurs midfielder – something that was to be a characteristic of the first half – and when Rogers slipped the ball to Ramsey, Tottenham was in difficulty.
The chances were still against Ramsey because the angle was tight enough to promote the goalkeeper and what the villa player delivered with his left foot would not really have to be good enough. The whole blow had to congratulate that it was the power, but it turned out to be sufficient because Kinsky was wrong and the ball found the back of the net on the forearm of the goalkeeper.
Kinsky looked without and not surprising. It was a fairly horrible personal moment and it left his team against another long afternoon of football. Tottenham was down again here, but villa too. The injuries have long been an excuse for postcoglou and for reason. But there is a time when the players you send on the field must do a little better.

Here, the spurs were exceeded very early. Villa, with Excellent Rogers and Youri Tielemans, had the race for central areas. Many and many times, the home team broke on the background of the Spurs who had Archie Gray – a midfielder – and the new signature of Kevin danson in his heart.
Kinsky has in fact contributed to reimburse his team for his previous error when he saves Leon Bailey well and in fact Rogers. There was also another terrifying moment when he badly checked a bullet on his own goal line, then immediately gave it. When he returned to him in the villa on the right, Rogers fired.
Behind the goal at this end of the ground, Tottenham fans began to make fun of their own team. It is not uncommon to hear them call the leader of President Levy – they did it as Tottenham won in Brentford last Sunday – but there was an advantage in the external end which seemed to indicate that the patience vanishes always faster.
The only positive here for the Spurs was that they no longer conceded before half-time. They were nervous and subject to errors, but they almost saw the early storm without taking more water on board. Indeed, they should have been at the level of the 24th minute when Dejan Kuluski returned Mikey Moore to the right and when he crossed the son, a goal seemed inevitable.
The sprawling judgment made by Emiliano Martinez was great, but his son – pulling for the first time at 12 meters – should not have given a chance to the winner of the World Cup.
This has at least pointed out a better football from the Spurs. They were no longer exceeded and started to build possession spells. One of them saw Spence advance from the left back to bring another Martinez stop.

Villa, however, continued to carry the threat. And just before the break, they crossed again. Gray gave the ball without care and the signing of January from Villa in January Donyell Malen cut to hit the lateral net when he should probably have to try to provide a teammate inside.
The improvement of the Spurs continued in the second half, but everything was relative. His had another chance on the counter, but this time, the replacement for Villa Lomare Bogarde – for the injured Ezri Konsa – blocked the blow. Shortly after, his son was in good position, but this time went to a team – the comrade Yves Bissouma – who made it in a worst place. This has roughly summarized the current levels of confidence of threads.
Another Spurs raid brought them at the 56th minute and this time, Kulusevski tested Martinez from the range. It was a simple backup.
The game was in the balance to some extent, but the truth was that Villa wore a threat that Tottenham did not do. Spurs wore an air of vulnerability that villa did not do. Kinsky, for example, had to save brilliantly from Ramsey just before the time, then, five minutes later, Villa again pierced.
This time, the first error of the Spurs was of Spence which cut the ball in No-Man’s Land to concede possession unnecessarily. Villa then worked on the right and when Malen crossed, Pedro Porro could only clean a question of meters under his own bar and Rogers rushed the ball into the net.
While Villa Park celebrated, Emery slipped Rashford and another signature of January, Asensio, on. With Tottenham almost beaten, Opportunity hit Rashford in particular.
The loan of Manchester United called for a penalty in the 73rd minute but simply seemed to have fallen. His intention was clear, however.
Tottenham seemed to be finished and missed a socket in a lifeline with 12 minutes to do. Porro crossed paths with the left after a room takes place and a new signing of a dansus flashed the wide ball at the distant post.
There must have been a goal from the Spurs to death when such hit a Kulusvski cross at the most distant post in the 91st minute. These fans of the Spurs who had left early trying to come back. But the PostCoglou team could not find a miracle. This is not how it works in Tottenham these days.
