China celebrates Labor Day from May 1 to 5 inclusive. Chinese markets are closed for the holidays. There will be no fixing of the CNY rate, for example.
Most notable are New Zealand’s labor market figures today, where the unemployment rate is expected to have increased. New Zealand’s economy is moving slowly, hit by sustained high interest rates from the RBNZ as it battles high inflation. NZD/USD is weaker, marginally, because of this, but as is often the case in the foreign exchange world, it is being hit by the strength of the US dollar.
