As travel grows, DreamFolks launches catering service at 600 highway outlets

India has made considerable efforts to develop premier tourist spots for domestic and international travellers. From Himachal Pradesh to Goa and Kerala, all governments are roping in private entities to ensure that more tourists arrive at their destinations to enjoy their natural wonders or indulge in luxury experiences.

In this vein, to attract those travelling by road, travel and lifestyle experiences company DreamFolks has announced the launch of a highway catering service that will be available at over 600 outlets along major highways in the country.

The company on Friday said the new offering marks DreamFolks’ expansion beyond airports and railway stations to provide increased convenience to highway travellers, PTI reported.

Commenting on the launch, Liberatha Kallat, Founder and Managing Director, DreamFolks, told PTI, “With this launch, we are delighted to extend our services to highway travellers.”

The company added that DreamFolks members can now enjoy specially curated meals at popular restaurants across over 60 key roadways from major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

At the same time, Padma Shri awardee Ajeet Bajaj said that India’s natural heritage ranks 10th in the world according to the World Economic Forum, so there is a need to leverage this and create new travel destinations focused on nature and adventure.

Bajaj, who was awarded the Padma Shri in 2012 for his achievements in adventure sports, stressed the need to create “sustainable and well-managed tourism” to protect nature. “Cultural heritage and spiritual tourism have been the strength of tourism in India. According to the World Economic Forum, India’s natural heritage ranks among the top 10 in the world. This includes the Himalayas, deserts, islands… we have all types of terrain in our country. So we need to leverage this advantage and create new destinations that are nature and adventure-oriented,” he told PTI.

“We are a country of young people and they need adventure and connection with nature. While promoting other facets, we are also looking towards adventure tourism,” he said.
