A semi-trailer truck crashed on Friday morning at one end of the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis, interrupting traffic in the two directions around the afternoon.
The accident occurred around 10:55 a.m. in the tracks west of Interstate 94 and left the semi by side with part of the trailer in the tracks in the direction is just outside the east end of the tunnel, said Lieutenant de la Minnesota State Patrol, Mike Lee.
The semi, carrying ammunition, hit the wall before leaving his wheels, said Lee.
The lieutenant said that the ammunition involved in this particular accident could be transported in the tunnel, which has restrictions on various dangerous materials as a cargo.
The driver suffered non -critical injuries, said the lieutenant. Only the semi, with an Indiana license plate, was involved in the accident.
The Minnesota Ministry of Transport (MNDOT) said that the side east of the tunnel had reopened about two hours later. Traffic in the west remains interrupted as the afternoon route approaches.
About an hour after traffic stop, the state soldiers rushed using a passenger in a car with a medical emergency on the I-94 in the west direction near the Lyndale avenue, said Lee.
