Arsenal keen on Vlahovic amid Juve turmoil

With just a month to go until the January transfer window opens, there’s a lot of gossip circulating about who’s going where. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, whereabouts and, of course, deals!

TOP STORY: Arsenal keen on Vlahovic from Juventus

Juventus might be willing to leave Dusan Vlahovic leave, with Arsenal leading any potential race to sign the Serbian striker, according to Calciomercato.

Vlahovic endured a disappointing World Cup with Serbia as his only goal and start was a 3-2 loss to Switzerland while his country finished bottom of Group G with one point.

And although the 22-year-old has registered seven goals and two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season, he has suffered several injury problems.

At least four or five European clubs have already shown interest in Vlahovic. He was linked with Arsenal last January before signing with Juve for 70 million euros from Fiorentina.

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes were dealt a major blow last week when it was confirmed that the striker Gabriel Jesus had undergone knee surgery, with sources telling ESPN the Brazilian striker could be sidelined for around three months.

And while a January signing to make up for Jesus’ absence would help, a move for Vlahovic probably wouldn’t happen until the summer.

Juventus’ financial situation plays a role in their potential openness to the striker’s departure. Last month, Juventus’ board – including chairman Andrea Agnelli and vice-chairman Pavel Nedved – resigned en masse amid an investigation into fraudulent accounting and alleged hidden payments to players.
