Arsenal fans all say same thing as leaked new home shirt sees major change for first time since 1990

Arsenal fans may be reeling from their defeat to Aston Villa – but a leaked image of next season’s home shirt has lifted morale.

Supporters were quick to point out a major change in design, with the club’s traditional badge replaced by the iconic cannon crest.

An image of the rumored strip for the 2024/25 campaign has been making the rounds on social media, with the Gooners giving it their seal of approval.

The shirt features a cannon in place of the Arsenal badge, a nod to the north London club’s past, whose kits from the late 1960s until 1990 were adorned with the same symbol.

Fans will be familiar with the famous design, with the cannon logo featured in each of their third kits since the 2021/22 campaign.

However, if the image is indeed legitimate, it will be the first time in 34 years that Arsenal’s home shirt will feature the cannon.

The jersey is reminiscent of the 1988-90 home jersey, which contained white sleeves and three Adidas stripes running down from the shoulder.

Praising the new design of the leaked image, a fan on X posted: “I love the canon, followed by the heart eyes emoji.”

This fan then said: “The barrel looks damn good on the home kit. Finally!”

Meanwhile, a slightly more negative fan used the kit leak as an opportunity to voice his concerns about his team’s current situation, with Arsenal lagging behind in the Premier League title race.

They said: “Failing to lift the PL/CL in these incredible kits should be a criminal act. »

While the home shirt is rumored to be a treat for the Arsenal faithful, the same cannot be said for the leaked third strip.

Many have compared it to Manchester City’s home shirt, with rival supporters even mocking the design.
