Arrest made in South San Francisco armed robbery, kidnapping

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO — Authorities announced an arrest Thursday in connection with an armed robbery and kidnapping last month in South San Francisco.

The incident happened around 11:15 a.m. March 15 at a business in the 100 block of Terminal Court, the South San Francisco Police Department said in a news release.

A suspect brandished a gun, tied up the victims, forced them into a room and stole a “significant amount of money,” police said. He was missing by the time the police arrived.

Detectives eventually identified the suspect as a 37-year-old Hayward man, police said.

On Tuesday, detectives served an arrest warrant at the suspect’s home, police said. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on charges of robbery and kidnapping.
