Arrest made after throwing ‘flammable object’ at Mattapan house

There was a small fire at the residence but no injuries were reported, according to Boston police.
A person was arrested after allegedly throwing a flammable object into a Boston home, causing a small fire, police said.
Boston police responded to 27 West Main Street in Mattapan around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a fire, Boston Police Department spokesman David Estrada said.
The flammable object caused a small fire, but no injuries were reported. The fire brigade was called to the scene.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was described as a man wearing a surgical mask and a black hoodie and carrying a red baton, according to Estrada. The identity of the person arrested has not been released.
Estrada said the incident was “not a random act.”
No additional information was available.
