Arne Slot insisted that her Liverpool team does not become complacent after they only fell to their second defeat of the Premier League season.
“The complacency is the last thing,” said Slot, whose team still has an 11 -point lead at the top and only needs 11 additional points of their remaining seven games to guarantee the title.
“There is no reason why we are complacent because we do not win every match by three or four goals,” added the Liverpool boss.
“This requires so much effort and hard work combined with quality to win football matches, but the team (Manchester City) who won the league in the last four seasons was already 3-0 at halftime in many games they have played.
“It’s not like that for us. We are fully aware that we have to compete for seven additional games. Wednesday (against Everton) was a tight call. It was a tight call. Several times we were on the right side, but we were on the wrong side and it was mainly because of the errors that we made.
And Slot pointed out that the loss was due to a 15 -minute spell in the first half where Liverpool conceded three times.

Despite the result, Liverpool maintains a strong 11 -point lead at the top of the Premier League
“It was not 45 minutes of disasters, but the mistakes we made (within 15 minutes) are something we are not used to and it is something different,” he said. “One of the reasons why we are in the position we are because we do not make many mistakes,” added Slot.
Meanwhile, Fulham’s boss Marco Silva praised the performance of his team when he became the only manager after Nuno Espirito Santo to beat Slot in the Premier League this season.
“It’s a great three points and I really believe that we have deserved it,” said Silva, whose team also designed in Anfield earlier this season.
“We have had three big games in the last nine days. We did not get what we wanted in the first two, but to bounce back and win against the next Premier League champions is important for us and pleasant to return something to the fans.
“It was an excellent season for this football club, but in certain important times, we were not at our best as last week (in the quarterfin of the FA Cup).
“But we have changed the state of mind of this club. It is clear for me. If you go up 10 or 15 years, these types of games were really difficult and it was not easy to be competitive. Look back and see the story of our games against Liverpool and this is an example ”, he added.
