Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted that he would be surprised if Marcus Rashford was not a success during his loan to Aston Villa.
Slot, who confirmed that Joe Gomez will be released for several weeks with an injury to the hamstrings, takes his leaders from Premier League to Villa Park on Wednesday evening when they will face a Rashford Rajenis on loan from Manchester United where he was frozen by Ruben Amorim.
“The first time I faced Marcus Rashford in real life was on our pre-season tour in the United States,” said Slot.
“I was really impressed how fast it is. He has a good height and is comfortable with the ball. I hope that for him, he will show that in Villa, but of course, I did not expect him to do it against us.
“I will be completely surprised if a player of this quality does not show him in the coming months because he is a very good player.”
Rashford had not been in the Premier League for United since the beginning of December, but came out of the Villa bench at halftime on Saturday and helped them to retaliate to shoot 1-1 with Ipswich, creating the equalizer of Ollie Watkins With a free fantastic -kick who struck the woodwork.

Arne Slot expects Rashford to shine at Villa by the end of the season
Liverpool could make a clear 10 points by beating Villa but stammered in their last three games; Being eliminated from the FA Cup by Plymouth, leaning on Everton, then clinging to the Wolves 2-1 Sunday without having a target in the second period.
Gomez and Cody Gakpo missed the weekend by injury and none will come back on Wednesday, although Gomez’s problem is worse.
“Neither is available for villa,” confirmed the location. “Cody is about to be back, Joe will be released for several weeks due to an injury to the hamstring.
“There will be a short part of the end of the season, but we expect it to be back in the end phase. He might need surgery, but that’s something we have to assess.
Gomez was removed at the start of Plymouth’s defeat. “It’s a hard blow for us but, first of all, for him because he tried to do everything to be with the team,” added Slot.
“He worked very hard to come back, then the first match he returned after two or three minutes, we saw him do a sprint and now he came out for weeks.
“It’s always very difficult for a player when it happens in any part of the season, not to mention the part of the season that everyone is looking forward to.”
