Six people were tied up during an armed robbery Tuesday in East Hollywood.
The victims told authorities that five masked men, armed with rifles and handguns, entered the home in the 400 block of North Heliotrope Drive before dawn. They tied up the people inside the house and left with purses, bags and other items.
Police arrived at the residence around 4 a.m. No arrests were reported as of early Tuesday. It is unclear how the thieves gained entry to the residence in a multi-unit building.
A woman inside the home fled during the crime.
“I heard one of my friends screaming,” she said. “I saw someone standing there and we realized it wasn’t one of us, so we were robbed. We ran out the window.”
The victims had just arrived in Los Angeles on a trip from Minnesota, they said.
No injuries were reported.
