Arlington Heights Single Vehicle Crash Injures 5 People – NBC Chicago

Authorities say five people were injured, one seriously, when an SUV left a roadway and crashed into a sign on Saturday afternoon in Arlington Heights.
At around 1:15 p.m., a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling south on Arlington Heights Road when it veered off the road and struck a sign outside the AAEC Credit Union, police said in a statement. Press. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, and three passengers were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A fifth victim, a 71-year-old Chicago woman, was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury and remained in critical condition Saturday night.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected in the crash, authorities said. The collision is being investigated by the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit of the Major Case Assistance Team.
