Arjun, classified in world n ° 4, endured a disappointing outing in the TATA steel chess tournament recently held at Wijk Aan Zee, in the Netherlands. He finished the tournament in 10th place out of 14 competitors in the Masters section, having recorded only two victories, while drawing seven and losing four other games.

His victories came against Nodirbek Abdusattorov in Uzbekistan and another Indian Director of Gukesh at Tour 12 and 13 of the tournament respectively.

Erigaisi later admitted that the Tata Steel chess tournament was one of the most difficult competitions in his life. “It was one of the most difficult tournaments of my life so far. He is always learned to remove tournaments. Especially in tournaments as there are many (take -out learning). But those I can reveal is that I played a little too aggressively and took too many risks, “he told Indian Express.

D GUKESH, who defeated Ding Liren to win the title of the world chess championship in December, suffered a disappointing outing in Weissenhaus leg of the Grand Chelem tour of Freestyle chess. The teenager lost against the possible finalist Fabiano Caruana in the quarter -final in Germany and not a single victory throughout the tournament meant that Gukesh finished in eighth place (four points) in the 10 players’ classification.

The Paris leg of the Freestyle chess tour will be followed by three other legs in New York (July 17-24), New Delhi (September 17-24) and CAP (December 5-12).
