Arjun Erigaisi got closer to the gukesh compatriot in the last list of fide ratings on Tuesday while Aravindh Chithambaram reached his career record after his triumph in the Prague Chess Masters. The Indian grandmothers Arjun and Aravindh were among the latest notes of Fide Gairs; While the first found fourth place with five rating points, Aravindh made a major jump by collecting 18 points.
The five -time world champion Magnus Carlsen, on the other hand, continues to direct the list, after having passed the summit of the notes in 2010 and remained the best classified player since 2011. The note of the Norwegian chess icon is currently at 2,837 after obtaining four points of notes. Hikaru Nakamura stayed in second place with a note of 2,804 after winning a few points.
Gukesh remains the best classified Indian in third place for the moment with a note of 2,787, and is closely followed by Arjun at 2,782. The US director general Fabiano Caruana (2,776), meanwhile, slipped into fifth place after losing seven note points.
R Praggnanandhaa is the only other Indian in the top 10, currently occupying the seventh position with a note of 2,758. Like Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa’s note has remained static.
Aravindh had succeeded in the greatest feat of his career earlier this month by winning the Prague Masters on the last day of the event with a draw against Gurel Ediz in Türkiye.
The 25 -year -old finished with a total of six points out of a nine at the end of the masters section while Praggnanandhaa finished the second spouse with the Dutch GM Anish Giri and the Chinese GM Wei Yi.
If Praggnanandhaa had not lost against Giri in the last round, he could have forced the Masters event to embark on the BRIS of TIE, where he would have had a solid blow to the collection of another major title after winning the Tata Steel chess tournament in the Netherlands.
As for the notes of women, the GM Koneru Humpy – which had recently been crowned world champion for women for the second time – remains the only Indian among the first 10.
Humpy occupies sixth place with a score of 2.528, while the first four places are occupied by Chinese players, led by Hou Yifan (2,633) and Wenjun Ju (2,561). Russia Aleksandra Goryachkina completes the top-five with a note of 2,544.
GMS Harika Dronavalli (2,488) and R Vaishali (2,484) are the best rated Indians in the updated notes, occupying the 15th and 16th places while I am Divya Deshmukh (2460) is at the 20th point.
