Arizona Woman Shelly Shears Runs Over Boyfriend With Car In Deadly Loves Feud

An argument between a bickering couple escalated when an Arizona woman killed her boyfriend, police said.

Shelly Shears, 51, was arrested by Casa Grande police after finding 59-year-old victim Billy Stephens lying near a roadway on West Saguaro Street in serious condition around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

He suffered “significant trauma” and later died of his injuries after being airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix, police said.

“Detectives have uncovered significant evidence to determine that Shears and Stephens were in a verbal argument before she hit him with her vehicle,” police said in a statement.

The Casa Grande Police Department arrested Shelly Shears, 51, after killing her boyfriend.

Shears remained at the scene before being apprehended, police said.

She was convicted of second-degree murder, Casa Grande authorities said.

She is being held at the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and the case has been sent to the county attorney’s office for review.
