The emergence of Henri Veesaar As a large versatile man and a key part of Arizona’s rotation was undoubtedly the biggest surprise of the 2024-25 season, not to mention a source of hope for the future.
It turns out that this could be for the future of a different team.
Veesaar would have put its name in the NCAA transfer portal, the third WildCat to do so since the end of the AU season in Sweet 16.
The 7 -foot vesaar had a year of escape for Arizona, its third with the program. The second year RedShirt student collected an average of 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks in 20.8 minutes per match, starting five times but especially leaving the bench.
Veeesaar, originally from Estonia who missed the 2023-24 season with an elbow injury, had 16 double-digit games, including 13 against Duke in Sweet 16. His career summit was 22 against the ASU in the home final.
An injury to the foot to his great man Motiejus Krivas In December, opened the door in Veesaar to play a more important role in the front area, either in place of or taken with Tobe Awaka. His salary attracted complimentary criticism from the opposing coaches, some of whom called him a hope of the NBA.
Veesaar joins the guard KJ Lewis and in the center Emmanuel Stephen As Arizona players in the portal. With guard Caleb Love and forward Trey TownsendWho are not eligible, the Wildcats fell to six remaining scholarship players from a team that went 24-13, tied in third place in Big 12, then reached the final of the conference tournament before doing the Sweet 16 for the third time in four seasons under Tommy Lloyd.
