Arizona Senate Passes Repeal of 1864 Abortion Ban, Sends It to Governor’s Desk
The Arizona Senate voted Wednesday to repeal a strict Civil War-era ban on abortion that was recently ruled enforceable by the state Supreme Court.
The repeal legislation now goes to Gov. Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, who has said she supports it.
After being signed by Hobbs, the repeal would then take effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session, or before June 30.
