Ariana Grande has two “friends” to thank for still being seen as a rising star.
Friday, the Wicked the manager attended the Palm Springs Film Festival in California, where Jennifer Coolidge presented him with the coveted Rising Star Award. And she didn’t hesitate to make a joke or two in her acceptance speech!
After accepting the award and taking to the podium, the 31-year-old scoffed at the idea of being seen as a rising star despite her years in the music industry before launching more seriously into the profession of actress:
“You have no idea how much this means to me. I’ve been performing on stage since I was a child, so I never thought that at 31 I would hear the words “rising star” again.
Thus, the Yes, and? The singer paid tribute to two specific “friends” who helped her stay young:
“So I wanted to start by thanking my two friends: Botox And Juvéderm. I thought I’d hear “slightly faded star” or “falling star” now, so thanks.
HA! But wait… We thought she said she stopped getting fillers? In 2023, the pop star revealed in a Vogue Beauty Secrets video that she “had a ton of lip fillers over the years and Botox” but stopped in 2018. Then in September 2024, she admitted in a Vanity Fair on the lie detector test, she revealed that she “had fillers in various places and Botox, but I stopped about four years ago”, and that this was the extent of the work she she had accomplished. So, is she officially back?? Not quite.
During an interview with Entertainment tonight after her awards speech, the Nickelodeon alum clarified:
“Oh my God, my joke, my part…I’m still clean, I’m still clean. But when I do it again, I’ll let you know, I mean it. I really want to be transparent as a beauty founder. As founder of rem beauty I think it’s important to have transparency. But I love him and support him, but I’m still four years sober.
