Argentina: Thousands of people protest against the diatribe of President Milei against the “ swelling ” in Davos

Buenos Aires (AP) – Thousands of demonstrators gathered in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires and in cities from all over the country to protest against President Javier Milei Speech at the World Economic Forum In Davos last week, during which he criticized the “awakening”, feminism and other progressive ideals.

The demonstrators were dressed in rainbow flags and banners who read “the rights are not negotiable”. Nicknamed the “federal march of anti -fascist and anti -racist pride”, the LGBTQ + community called the demonstration after the January 23 speech to fight against “economic violence, political persecution and sexual repression of the government of Javier Milei”.

Rights groups, unions and political parties have also joined the demonstration.

In Switzerland, Milei strongly criticized “sick awakening”, social well-being, feminism, identity policy and the fight against climate change, adding that “in its most extreme versions, gender ideology constitutes a simple and simple mistreatment of children ”.

Proter Germán Paladino, an industrial engineer, said that the Milei government did not take care of public problems such as health care and education and rather unleashed in people’s privacy.

“I do not know if this walk can change anything, but if it could take a break from the remarks of Javier Milei who were rather aggressive,” said Paladino.

“I am here to defend our rights, those we have won and those who are currently attacked,” said Milagros, a 33 -year -old visual artist.

In recent decades, Argentina has devoted progressive laws devoting sexual diversity and equal marriage rights, among others.
